It is a species found in the central zone of Peru. It has a consistent and thick texture in its meat, quite spongy.

Its smell is fungal and its sweet fruity taste. When dry, it often acts as a seasoning for meats and stews, however it can be rehydrated to cook stews, sauces or gourmet dishes.
